Day 1: Drive from Gondar to Simien Mountains National Park
In the morning after breakfast, drive from Gondar to the Simien Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. On the way, stop in Debark (2,800 m) to collect your guide, cook, scouts, and necessary trekking permits after completing registration and park fees.
Here, you will also collect all required equipment for the coming trekking days. Continue driving into the park. The Simien Mountains are located above 3,000 m altitude, so acclimatization is important on the first day.
You will enjoy a short 2–3 hour acclimatization trek to Sankaber Campsite (3,200 m), with stunning views over valleys and mountain ranges and the chance to see endemic gelada baboons.

Day 2: Trek from Sankaber to Geech
After breakfast, begin your trek through beautiful Erica heather forest, draped in white lichen and moss, resembling an old man’s beard. From Sankaber (3,200 m), trek toward Geech (3,600 m).
After 2–3 hours, you will reach the seasonal Jinbar Waterfall or Nigus Aysmush viewpoint. During the dry season, water flow may be minimal, but the 500-meter-deep canyon remains highly impressive. You may also spot the rare and elegant lammergeyer (bearded vulture) soaring above.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by the river, then continue trekking through the spectacular Simien landscape on a gradual undulating trail for another 2–3 hours to reach Geech Village, where you will camp overnight.

Day 3: Trek Geech – Imet Gogo – Drive to Gondar – Fly to Addis Ababa
Early morning after breakfast, leave Geech Camp and trek toward Imet Gogo Viewpoint (3,926 m). From here, enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view over valleys, canyons, and the vast Simien mountain range.
Continue trekking to Ayna Meda, where your vehicle will be waiting for pickup. Drive back to Gondar through the scenic Simien Mountains National Park via Debark town.
Later, take your flight to Addis Ababa.

Day 4: Fly Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa – Harar City Tour
In the morning, take your flight to Dire Dawa. Upon arrival, meet your driver and transfer to Harar. After hotel check-in, meet your local guide for a Harar city tour, exploring the ancient walled city, traditional neighborhoods, and local museums.
In the evening, experience the famous Hyena Man of Harar, where wild hyenas are hand-fed in a unique cultural tradition.
