Day 1: Fly Addis Ababa – Jinka
Fly from Addis Ababa to Jinka. Upon arrival, meet our team and transfer to your hotel. On this day, we will visit the villages of the Ari tribe. The villages are surrounded by lush countryside, which is a sharp contrast to other parts of the Omo Valley tribal villages. Walk through the farmlands and villages, visit craftsmen, and see how the Ari people live. If it is a market day, visit the local market.

Day 2: Jinka – Mursi – Turmi
Drive through Mago National Park to meet the Mursi tribe. The Mursi people are considered fearless warriors and are widely recognized for the women’s iconic lip plates. The bigger the lip plate, the more beautiful a Mursi woman is considered. Upon arrival, walk around the small huts of different Mursi families and see their daily life. Take photos with the tribal members.
Afterward, drive to Turmi, home of the Hamer tribe. The Hamer people live a traditional lifestyle based on herding and agriculture. They are famous for their spectacular women’s hairstyles and the unique bull jumping ceremony, an important rite of passage for young men.

Day 3: Turmi – Omorate
In the morning, drive to Omorate to visit the Dasenech tribe, who live along the banks of the Omo River. Cross the river by a traditional boat to reach their village. The Dasenech people are pastoralists who depend on cattle and goats for survival, especially during the dry season. Livestock also represents wealth and is used as a dowry.
In the afternoon, return to Turmi. If it is Monday, attend the vibrant Turmi tribal market.

Day 4: Turmi – Karo
In the morning, drive to Korcho village, home of the Karo tribe, located on a cliff overlooking the scenic Omo River. The Karo live in huts made of wood and thatched roofs. They are famous for their elaborate body painting, using natural colored clay to create striking designs.
Later, visit a Hamer village and possibly enjoy a traditional coffee with a local family. You may also visit the local market in Turmi, where different tribes gather to trade goods and socialize.

Day 5: Turmi – Konso – Arbaminch
After breakfast, drive to Arbaminch via Konso. Visit the Konso villages, known for their hilltop settlements fortified by multiple stone walls. The Konso people are famous for their advanced terraced farming system, which has earned them recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After exploring the villages and walking through the narrow paths, continue the drive to Arbaminch.

Day 6: Arbaminch – Dorze – Hawassa
In the morning, drive to the Dorze village, known for its skilled weavers. The Dorze people produce high-quality handmade cotton cloth, including the famous traditional Shemma garments. Observe the weaving process and learn about this time-honored tradition.
Walk through the lush green farmlands and see the unique elephant-shaped houses. Learn how the Dorze prepare food from the false banana tree and enjoy their music and dance.
Continue to Hawassa, a popular tourist destination in Ethiopia. Walk along the lake shores and enjoy views of pelicans, marabou storks, and other water birds.

Day 7: Hawassa – Addis Ababa
In the morning, visit the fish market, where locals bring freshly caught fish to cook and eat by the lakeside. Continue to the public park, where you may see colobus monkeys and other wildlife.
Enjoy a boat trip on the lake to spot hippos. Later, drive back to Addis Ababa.
