Omo Valley Tribe Tour from Arbaminch – 8 Days Ethiopia Cultural Tour

Explore the fascinating Omo Valley, home to some of the last original tribes on Earth, who continue to maintain a traditional way of life as they have for hundreds of years. These tribes preserve unique customs, including body painting, hairstyles, and handmade jewelry.

We begin our Omo Valley tribal experience by exploring the Dorze village, famous for its skilled weaving traditions in Ethiopia.

We will admire the ancient tribal villages of Konso, a terraced landscape declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and walk through its remarkable walled villages.

You will be impressed by the Mursi women’s lip plates, learning why they practice this cultural tradition and its significance within the tribe. The men and women of the Hamer tribe wear minimal clothing or goatskin miniskirts, while the women dye their hair with red ochre and butter, creating a striking and colorful appearance. We will also visit the Dassanech tribes and the colorful Karo tribes, known for their elaborate body painting.

Our tour culminates with a visit to Hawasa, one of Ethiopia’s most popular towns and a perfect weekend getaway destination. Here, we will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Hawasa, visit the lively fish market, and encounter a variety of birds and monkeys.
