The church is small but well-preserved, with colorful paintings adorning the cave walls.

To reach Abune Yemata Guh, visitors first drive through Megab from Hawzen. The road is mostly paved, except for the last 1 km detour. Parking under a lone Acacia tree, visitors begin the uphill trail of loose sand and rocky dirt. Local guides often choose resting points along the way.
The climbing section requires using handgrips and footholds on a sheer cliff, so it is not recommended for those with vertigo, knee issues, or older adults.
