Day 1: Mekele – Danakil Depression – Erta Ale Volcano

Pick up from your hotel in Mekele and join a group tour to the Danakil Depression. Drive from Mekele to Dodom, the starting point of your adventure. From Dodom base camp, trek for about 3 hours to Erta Ale Volcano, home to the world’s only permanent lava lake. Enjoy a spectacular night view of the volcano eruption and flowing lava.

Day 2: Erta Ale – Hamadela

Wake up early and trek back from Erta Ale to Dodom, then drive about 100 km to Hamadela. Along the way, see traditional camel caravans and enjoy a beautiful sunset over Lake Assale.

Day 3: Hamadela – Dallol – Mekele
