Bale Mountain Wildlife tour (3 days)

Enjoy the wildlife of the Bale Mountains National Park. Home to endemic animals, Exotic vegetation, the largest African-alpine habitat in Africa, and the second-highest mountain in Ethiopia.

Day 1 Addis Ababa – Bale

Drive from Addis Ababa to Bale through the Great Fragment Lakes region, visit Lake Zvi with its amazing water birdlife.
The Bale Mountains National Park is the second highest mountain in Ethiopia. It rises from 2500 meters to the highest mountains, 4377 meters above sea level in Dinshu. It also has the largest afro-alpine habitat in Africa with exotic vegetation and rare animals.

After arrival, we directly drive to the Sanetti Plateau to see a rare Ethiopian wolf or called Simien red fox which preys on rodents, including a giant mole rat found only on Mount Bale and the largest in the world.

Overnight in Bale Mountain Camping, Lodge, or Hotel

Day 2 Dinsho

Early in the morning, we depart to Dinsho where we arrive at the Bale mountain forest to enjoy its wildlife; Dinsho has a dense forest mainly dominated by Juniper and Hagenia Abyssinica. The forest is a refuge for endemic animals such as the stunning Nyala Mountain and Minilik Bushbuck. There are also several antelopes, warthogs, and monkeys. After watching the game in the forest, we will head to Hawasa.

Overnight in Hotel Hawasa.

Day 3 Hawasa – Addis Ababa

Hawas is a tourist resort in Ethiopia where locals come to enjoy the beautiful lake and the pleasant atmosphere. In the morning we will walk to the fish market where fishermen sell their catch while locals enjoy freshly cooked fish straight from the lake. Pelicans, marabou, and other water birds compete for the leftovers of the fishermen. A short distance from the fish Market we find a public park where there are many monkeys and birds. It is very common to interact with them. We also take a boat ride on the lake to see some hippos. In the afternoon drive back to Addis.
